Foreground/Background focusing

I've been working on antiques and recently decided I wanted to try and combine the foreground and background of vases and bowls so that there was a single focal point. This is how I did it. Thank you for looking.

This is the foreground of the image. The focus blurs the back of the rim. Lets fix that.

This is the background of the image. I quick select the back rim and refine my edge. Ctr-J for a isolated layer. Click on the thumbnail and highlight. Copy the isolated image.

Paste the image to the foreground image. I then Ctrl-T and right click for the warp and distort to make it line up with the foreground.
